2006 Training Academy Graduates 32 new Deputies
On Friday May fifth, the State Sheriff's Department held the commencement cermony for the 32 recruits who completed the 2006 Academy.
Deputy Sheriff Training Academy Information
The Deputy Sheriff Training Academy covers all subject matter relating to the daily functions of a Deputy Sheriff. Subjects include Rhode Island General Laws, Use of Force, Crime Scene Preservation, Searches of Prisoners, Crowd Control, Extraditions of Prisoners, Defensive Tactics, Cellblock Operations, Court Operations, Executive Protection. In addition, candidates are put through Physical Training courses and given hands-on training in our facilities.
